As a life-long scientist I love solving problems.

The first trick to using a scientific approach to problem solving is to stop and think. Then research, tofully understand what is going. Generate data if you can. Don't rush to judgement, or to a solution, until you fully understand your situation. Question everything, especially the experts.

Then attempt to solve!

Much of my life people said there was something wrong with me. Turned out I have an Aspergers phenotype. Found it out in the 80s, and it sure helped to know. So I did a little research, and I think you might find it interesting to know your AQ score.

We can each contribute to protecting the environment, one little contribution at a time. Saft guarding resources or raising awareness, fight climate change of changing your garden to protect local species. Even tiny house living - I tried it for 6 years, and learned a lot.

There is a simple trick to enjoying a career in science, which can be challenging and fiscally insecure. Be a Jack of all trades, master of one, and make that one a trade that will support you when the grants don't come in. Just a word to the wise.

Most of the time, pain is your friend, saving you from further damage. Other times, pain is a warning of trouble, something needs to be fixed. A scientific approach to such pain can save you lots of trouble, including pain pill addiction.
